INDORE GAURAV FOUNDATION
One Herculean task taken up by Indore Gaurav Foundation with Shri Bhandari General secretary, was the restoration of Rajwada. This is the first NGO which was permitted by the Archeological department (M.P. Govt.) for the renovation of this historical asset. The project cost involved was Rs. 1.25 crore which is successfully completed, the volunteers are now all set to bring back the royal structure is its old fame and splendour. The success and popularity of this project can be gauged from the fact that it invited 100% public participation and people showed enthusiasm and interest galore to serve for this legendary and noble cause. As if this was not enough, this noble project of restoration won international acclaim by American Concrete Society.
As a general secretary Indore Gaurav Foundation initiated the Indore Gaurav Mahotsav. 170 NRI’s, who spent their growing up year at Indore were felicitated by Indore Gaurav Foundation. The NRI’s too from their behalf have donated more than Rs. 50 lakhs and provided technical support for the betterment of the city which is an ongoing process.
Renovation of 6 year old, Indore besed Devi Ahilya Pustakalya is another humble project which has been taken up and completed by Indore Gaurav Foundation. This Project worth Rs. 1 crore had been started with an objective of transforming this library into national level library. The tasks included restoration of the old building, construction of auditorium, art gallery, reading room and addition of a wide range of books on variety of subjects. What made the whole exercise more meaningful is the fact that due public participation was involved in rasing the fund for this humanitarian project. |
